Top Ten Halloween Movies For Younger Kids To Watch

It is easy to find horror movies to watch for Halloween. They run the gamut from good to bad to so-bad-it is-good to funny. But for parents of pre-teens, it can be hard to find something to watch that is in the proper Halloween spirit, but won’t induce a month of nightmares.




Here are my top ten movie suggestions to show to younger kids, that I think will be fun for grownups, too.

At Number 10
The Addams Family (1991)

Con artists plan to fleece the eccentric family using an accomplice who claims to be their long lost Uncle Fester.

At Number 09
Daffy Duck's Quackbusters (1988)

Daffy Duck opens a detective agency for the supernatural along side his Looney Toon buddies.


At Number 08

Dracula is alive. In fact, he plans to rule the world and that is why he seeks the help of other legendary monsters. However, a bunch of kids regarded by their peers as losers uncover the devious plan and prepare for a counter strike.


 At Number 07

When Cinderella's cruel stepmother prevents her from attending the Royal Ball, she gets some unexpected help from the lovable mice Gus and Jaq, and from her Fairy Godmother.

Beetlejuice (1988)


A couple of recently deceased ghosts contract the services of a "bio-exorcist" in order to remove the obnoxious new owners of their house.
At Number 05

When a shy groom practices his wedding vows in the inadvertent presence of a deceased young woman, she rises from the grave assuming he has married her.

Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit, set out to discover the mystery behind the garden sabotage that plagues their village and threatens the annual giant vegetable growing contest.
